5k, 37.17 (My previous was 38.33 and Parkrun on rough ground with a mega headwind was 41 something) So I'm OK with that. Birds singing, sheep bleating, sun shining - sporting my new wraparound sunglasses which were ace, thanks Ully, (especially when they magically added an additional film of protection half way around when they steamed up!).
Off to replace a gate post and unload logs now - easy compared to a morning run.

You are such a pain Poppy - I ADORE that song and have a fantastic playalong sax version - I'm going to have to get my sax out now and have a blast. In all 4 corners of the UK there's going to be joggers running along singing that now. Definitely a feel good song.
You can play the Sax ???? Wow, how amazing is that ? Fab stuff !!!
We could have a C25k band ! , Ancient Mum plays the violin, someone else on here ( sorry , cant remember) plays the guitar and I can sing and play the triangle and tambo .
Whoa , we could do Wembley Arena, New York, Madison Square Gardens , Miss Wobbles church hall , the lot !! xxx
Do you know - I haven't played for about 2 years or more - but I'll get it out later and see what I can remember. I'll have to put my sock down it or I'll drown out the more refined instruments - and its more of a screech than playing. Toodlepip, back to my gatepost. Just been having a coffee in the sunshine - really super - going to get a shock when that Siberian wind comes.
Good work Miss Buffkins!! I ran yesterday and was so exhausted I had to take to my bed at 7pm. Not quite what running is supposed to do for me ... hey ho.
I am just coming out of a mild MS relapse, and I don't know if that is related. Every time I run I am just WASTED afterwards. I feel the need to keep running, as it made such a difference to my life in a good way. Perhaps I need to run for a shorter time and distance at the moment. I ran 10, 10, 8, 8 mins on Weds with walking gaps in between, and maybe in my current state of health that was just too much. It's very frustrating as I was running continuously for 50 mins before this relapse and I feel like a bit of a failure at the moment. Still, I can't do what I can't do, so should just stop moaning and do what I CAN do really!
Your body certainly seems to not like you over-doing it, but as you say, must be frustrating given that you have done 50 mins previously. At least you're very positive and still enjoying what you are doing. I'm sure you'll find its more rewarding to at least get out there regularly and ease off any attempt to push yourself. Just enjoy this glorious spring bursting out all around us. xx
I just re-read the article posted by someone recently about a lady who runs 2 miles every other day religiously. If that's all I can manage it would do for me. Running is, after all, supposed to make me feel better not send me to an early wheelchair!
Well done, Buffy! I'm just heading out now and can't decide on long sleeves or short - oooh the decisions we have to make! It's not so sunny here today but I hope I'll enjoy my run just the same. Poppypug's put Nina Simone in my head now so I expect I'll be singing that to myself all the way around!
Ha, ha, just come back, Nina still singing in my head! I have Ain't Got No - I got Life by the great lady on my playlist. I find it a really good pace setting track for me. The sun's come out now too!
Hope you had a good one - definitely a no-vest day here today - need to invest in some summer clothes ...... Even Gludvig wished she hadn't worn a vest y'day!
Had a great one, thanks! I didn't have a very good run on Tuesday so decided just to go out and enjoy myself today and it worked! 6.5k done and dusted so I'm happy with that. Funny how it comes together when you don't really try so hard. Some lovely people out and about today to say hello to as I passed as well. Feeling good now.
By the way, I went long sleeves, no vest (no vest before spring is out, my Grandma would have had a fit!) I could easily have gone short sleeves with hindsight or even just my natty all safely gathered in sports bra but I don't think the good people of York are ready for that (and my body certainly isn't!!) I'll keep my wobbly bits to myself!
Sorry, should have been "natty, all safely..." You know, stylish, fashionable (which it's really not!) Maybe I've made the word up, I have a habit of doing that! x
Ha ha , yes I get it , I know what you mean , I thought it was a bra or something but I get it now xxx
That's great! Sounds like a lovely run and, yes, it's another beautiful day. I might have to invest in some shades too if this weather continues. Gorgeous on the south coast again today.
Still here! My husband's really going to get miffed in a minute. Sadly I got them from an independent retailer locally, so that's not much help is it. They're called Pola Eyes. Polarised wrap around glasses by Optical UK Ltd, Leeds 0113 239 1400. How's that for a plug! I was just killing time waiting for hubby at the dentist and just saw them - quickest purchase I've ever made.
I just read the label on the box! I'm an East Yorkshire-ite. But living in Norfolk now, hence the fear of those easterly winds I keep going on about - have I mentioned them before?
