As promised Chocolate cake recipe
Thanks RFC, this looks awesome! Will definitely give it a go as soon as I've got some cider (that'll probably be tomorrow given the plaudits this cake got yesterday) Yum, Yum and Thrice Yum
Oh thank you for this RFC. I never liked chocolate (I know) before I started running and now I have chocolate in everything! I reckon my body is craving it so I'm not one to deny my hard working body its needs.
Oh excellent! Thanks for this. So it's cider that is the secret ingredient! I could taste something slightly malty and treacly, but couldn't identify it... gives the chocolate flavour extra depth.
I've got lots of cider (made by local collective with our apples after our old tree fell down), Three sisters and two daughters with birthdays this week....I'm getting baking. Thank you...
Cider eh! No wonder it tasted so good! Thanks RFC x
Strangely enough it also works with Guinness, bitter and ginger ale. All giving slighty different tones to the cake.
This looks amazing! I think I need to lose the few pounds that I gained through not running in January, before I attempt that, but it's definitely going in the recipe collection; especially after how famed it is!
I will give it try when I am back in the UK! Haven't seen any cider in the shops in chile but I also haven't looked for any. Now you got me thinking about about pear cider with ice.
Thanks for posting that, RFC. I think I will be giving that a go, as that cake you kindly presented at the end of the race was absolutely delicious. A great many thanks again, really; it was so lovely of you to do that for us.
Phwwooaarrrr!!!
I made the cake tonight!!!!! Up to the shop for cider and I chose Somerset Dry which at our offy you can buy by the can, so that was all right then. I don't drink so I don't want to buy more than I have to. LOL
I made it in a square 8" cake tin and it was fine. I got 12 pieces out of it, and for any of you on WW it works out at 6 pro points per piece!!!! Ouch.
It's delish! Really yummy
I'm going to wrap each piece and freeze it as OH will snaffle the lot if it's not out of harm's way
It's running fuel!
