many of you may know I started the C25K last year stopped due to Step Daughter from hell as the stress meant I went back to smoking having got as far as Week 9 I was very angry at myself but I knew I would go back when ready as loved it and it felt so good and right for me. Planned to start again last week but the dreaded step daughter decided she would be using the treadmill on the days that I wanted to do it agh.. so I started this morning woke up bright and early and got my kit on.. it felt so good and I surprised myself to say the least as found it easy.. W1R1 done.. yes. and this time I am staying and completing as know this is way for me. Step daughter has to use the treadmill on other days as it's mine on Monday Wednesday and Fridays or else...
Its so good to be back..

Since you're starting again, why not try outside. That way you are completely independent of step-daughter ! (and some outside time might help clear your head as well). just a thought ! happy running !

Yep, you are in the driving seat here. Your runs, your exercise. Don't let anything divert you from this job. Your life could depend on it, as could giving up the fags.
Your SD might cut you some slack if she sees that you're getting on with things. Also freedom of the open road means you're well out the way and the stress release from running outdoors shouldn't be under-estimated. It's a blast. If you ditch the fags, run regularly and eat a healthy diet you might just start impressing the young un
Getting out of the house would make so much difference, I reckon. Not only are you away from the cause of stress but you will be releasing your tensions to the winds. I often have a good old shout when I am out running, (but I do run in a very quiet rural area!). At the moment you are blaming your step daughter for occupying the treadmill, as the others say, get out doors and remove that extra blame, that you are laying at her door, from your life completely.
I have never used a dreadmill, but I cannot see it competing with the freedom of being outside and the glories of fresh air, wind and rain.
Yup, the treadmill sounds like a hostage to fortune. (I'm an innocent when it comes to treadmills, can only one person use them per day????)
If your life is a bit unpredictable, it may work better for you to just run every other day rather than have set days which you might then miss. (Obviously lots of people here do find it easier to stick to set days but if you have someone consciously or otherwise trying to trip you up, that's another hostage to fortune)
Welcome back! I hope it goes better this time If you can get outside, great, if you can only run on the treadmill and have to fight for it, great - you can do this! All the best with it and keep posting to let us know how you're getting on
Cas, you have to hand it to your darling step daughter for causing a battle over the tread mill!! She shows great igenuity and willfulness!! In your wilder moments of fantasy do you think there would ever be a time when she could be your running guide outside? Having witnessed a registered blind golfer with a guide wipe the floor with his hosptal consultants on the green, I'm sort of a assuming that somewhere out there there are running guides? Maybe that's something some of us could think of doing?! (Better get practising!!!)
