Turkey Trot

This morning I joined about 200 other local runners for the annual Boxing Day Turkey Trot 5K fun run. This is a predicted-results race, ie no watches, etc allowed and you have to predict your finishing time. I came in 30 seconds faster than my predicted time; some folks predicted their time to the second!

But I wasn't worrying about the time as I was simply out to enjoy myself which I did. I think I also made a few other runners and walkers smile with my costume. I had a few shouts of "Come on Wonder Woman!".

I enjoyed running on a flat route, as I don't have more than 2km at home before hitting the inclines, no matter which direction I run.

Afterwards we were treated to a huge spread of sandwiches and cakes made by members of the running club and I probably ate twice the number of calories I used in the run.

Thank you! :-)

For last year's Boxing Day Turkey Trot I was a funky fairy: flickr.com/photos/swan-scot...
