My daughter and I donned the red suits and were part of 8000+ Santas at the Pier Head awaiting the start of the 10th Santa Dash and an attempt to break the world record. Apparently we have broken the record too.
It was a chilly morning but plenty of scouse humour around. Costumes galore and some hardy souls out and about to cheer us on.
The Santa outfits were one size and a very generous size at that. The belts were littered along the route as the fell off very easily. I lost mine after a km. I should have taken my camera with me as it was an amazing sight seeing the sea of red ahead as I approached a flyover. There were some 500 blue suits in the football mad city. Even their medal had a blue ribbon too.
The dash was not fast as there were so many participants of varying fitness levels. I slow jogged it in about 33 minutes but it was not timed. Fast runners would have been frustrated unless they were at the front of the pack by the Three Graces at the waterfront. Many people were walking it or run/walk. It was a good event for families.
Pleased with my medal as it is my first ever.
