Santa Dash en famille!!:)

Hello again, just a quick update on my first running event with my kids this morning, our local Santa Dash.

It was a wet & grey morning but we were much cheered by all the bright Santas & reindeers dashing & jingling round the park. We joined friends & so split in to 'packs' of different speeds and indeed willpower!

I took it easy as I am still recovering from injury, doing a walk/run with my little boy. I think he did an extra 5k by zigging & zagging all over the place, it was like trying to run with a baby lamb!! He is knackered now & has just polished off his 3rd meal of the day already.

My daughter started off with us but she got some speed up mid-way & took off with her friends, I think there was a nice bit of healthy competition going on between them;)

I bought some long compression socks as a bit of post-injury insurance & so far feel quite good, fingers crossed.

I think I'll do alternative exercise & physio stretches, etc now till after Xmas & then it's back to the start of c25k again for me in the new year hopefully!

Here we are with our bling😃

Thank you, yes I felt like a hoarse sheep herder rather than a runner at times today😉X

Well done Missus, or should I say, Santa! All that running will make you all ravenous but it will make you tired too, so the kids should be fast asleep by now. Hope so, so you can chill out with sommat cool.

I think you're right about your plan to get re physio and exercise to get you back on track. I think I will be doing my physio exercises forever, but if they keep me right it's a small price to pay

Good luck with it, and well done for today!

Thanks miss w! I wish it had worn them out, they were still unfortunately rather hyper on Sunday evening, high on Christmas spirit I think!

Yeah I don't want to blow things by doing too much too soon, so a bit more of a break from running now & keeping up the physio & try for a 'comeback' in the new year. Your comeback let's me have some hope that I can do it too, very happy to read your race report from the weekend😀

Thanks ancient mum, I may have been on the injury couch for the last couple of months or so, but at least I got my kids running this year which was a key goal. Nice start to the Xmas celebrations, plus I believe the event raised around 24k for our local hospice! X
