Christmas present ideas

Odd post I know but what is everyone's wish list for Xmas? There are a few bits I wanted but now can't remember what they were as I never wrote them down. The only one I can remember was yorbud headphones.

What are you all wanting to buy next or will be asking for as gift ideas?

I have been dropping major hints to Santa that I would like a Garmin Forerunner, not sure if he has been listening though ;-)

If I don't get a new buff I will be majorly disappointed !

What's a buff?

totalbeginner profile image
totalbeginnerGraduate in reply to pot58

A buff is a fabric sometimes made with fleece or wool almost like a snood (if you can recall the 80s) they can be pulled over your face when running in cold weather or can be worn round your neck

Running tights and a jacket for when it gets chillier. :)

I would like a Garmin, I have been a very good girl this year Santa, I haven't been naughty at all, well maybe just a little bit ;-) xxx

If you haven't been naughty - then you definitely won't be getting anything!!!

I don't need (or even particularly want) much in the way of fitness related Christmas presents. The most pressing and legitimate thing is new running shoes given the number and location of holes in my favourite pair (but I do have a backup pair)

I bought a new swimsuit from Oxfam online to go in my stocking as my current one is getting a bit faded and a bit baggy (not for the right reasons!) and there's a buff that feels quite disturbingly compelling.

I'd quite like a voucher for a month of Ekhart Yoga to save me some money in those tight early months of the new year, and one of those microfibre bags you zip your dog into to get clean and dry.

Mostly I'd just like to be able to keep running - next year is going to be very challenging.

I wanted and I've now got a Nathan backpack. They were discounted at Amazon so hubby bought me an early christmas present. Well he will have when he pays me for it!

Surely the single most important item on everyone's list this year is the latest Dolly Parton album?

Ah, having read everyone else's replies it seems you were thinking of something more topical. or have they got the wrong idea, not me.

totalbeginner profile image

I was imagining there would be more fitness or running related items but feel free to add anything for Christmas spirit ;) who knows maybe Santa is reading this thread :)

Ah (again), Santa, I was joking. If you've already sorted that out for me can you send the gift receipt with itand I'll swap it for something a bit more funky.

Mmm, the RE teacher wasn't one of the top entries on the website daily mail today and I so wanted the Dolly Parton I recklessly put on a post.

Rock n Roll Dozz, Rock n Roll. Anyway, to herald your return, here is a fanfare for you:

Toot, Toot, Toot, Parp, Parp, Toot

Sorry, a couple of bum notes in there, but it was at very short notice :-D xxx

Thanks everyone keep these coming! Vix - nice one to do more with your other half.

Has anyone got those yorbud earphones I will try and post a link.

On my list will be some running tights, a new sports bra, some posh shampoo and the headphones although now I'm thinking I need a buff! I am going to do some shoeboxes with my kids though

I'm quite sure Dolly's wig would have the same effect in the hour of need

Mornin' Kitty :-) Oh, Val Doonican , or has he was called in our house- Lav Nacinood ha ha , that brings back some memories......

My Mam absolutely adored him and I bought her his Greatest Hits for Christmas one year. She went to see him at Batley Variety Club and couldn't get over how small he was ha ha :-)

He did have some lovely jumpers though didn't he ? I always thought that he should bring out a jumper collection especially for Christmas. Hmm a missed business opportunity there if you ask me .

Happy Sunday ! :-) xxx

Yep , Soulmates, that's what it is :-) xxx

Is that one solely for graduates? Did I miss something?

No I meant where you make them up with gifts inside for charity. Conscious I don't really 'need' anything but more want. My daughter is six so I'm looking forward to doing with her this year to get a bit of an appreciation that lots of children are not as fortunate

Why did you mention these? I need these now!! My wishes are new wellies for my job. Aigle Parcours ISO 2 but they are far too expensive for Father Christmas at £135 so maybe a donation towards them :)) xx

totalbeginner profile image
totalbeginnerGraduate in reply to Barbarajs

Haha they do look great and loads of positive reviews but I have some normal ones so couldn't justify spending £20 plus on them normally . but I've been a good girl too :)

My iPhone ones are great but last week I borrowed my husbands iPhone ones and they were awful. Mine is a 5s and his is a 4s...changed designs and they fit much better. I've never been able to use in ear earphones before :))

If you've been good then why not eh!! :)

Ho Ho: "All I want for Christmas is a Dukla Prague Away Kit"

Now there is a 1980's pop reference you don't get every day!

Curiosity got the better of me and I had to Google that.....

Half Man Half Biscuit ha ha

MarkyD profile image

Oh well done PP... HMHB are a whimsical indie band, with plenty of funny references. Dukla Prague were a European football team, and the away kit refers to a very rare Subbuteo team.

Tonight I am half biscuit, half Sainsburys, mini brownie bites. :-)

Ha ha, LOL My husband is half man, half mashed potato! I told him that last night. He agreed with me. This was in response to him telling me I had a cauliflower ear! However, I digress

Welcome back Doz. I agree with you. I think we all should put a Dolly Part album on our Christmas list. I was watching a re-run of her at Glasto t'other day. I do have Jolene on my mp3 player but not got any others. I think I'd go for 9 to 5 as a running choon

Some fancy wellies there Barb! Serious mothers they are! I hope you get some. I got girls flowery ones last year despite clearly writing "Hunter or Barbour" on my list to Santa. Santa must be unable to read very well.

Val Doonican! My mother used to think he was dead old fashioned but never missed his show and she produced his latest singles from her shopping bag with a flourish every pay day. "Don't beeeeeeeeeeeeeee concerned, it will not harm you, it's only me ........ across my dreams with nets of wonder. Nets of wonder??????????? Ey?

Yaktrax! Me too. I got two pairs of useless undersized Betterware ones. Wouldn't fit a 3 year old! Bah
