This time last year i was 20 kgs heavier and had never run in my life - who would have thought that as i ran today i would be telling my running friend that i would be doing one of my 3 weekly 5km runs on Christmas day as a present to myself !!!! what a change, i did another pb today 5km in 34.34 minutes - wow!

i struggle with boredom and pushing myself but doing my run in the morning sets me up for the day, thank you couch to 5km and thank you to this very supportive forum x

That's really fantastic. I'm envious of your time. It's a lovely idea - your run is your Christmas present.

Well done !

Very well done. I am proud of you.

If you suffer from boredom, try different routes. OK, you can't do direct time comparisons on different runs, but there is more to running than PBs ~ honestly!

Good luck for the Christmas Day run. I may [metaphorically] join you.

thanks to everyone who has replied, i have done the whole program on a playing field do 11 laps for 5kms 5 minutes from my house, i have NEVER run anywhere else!! hence the boredom but at 45years and still 78kg i have had no injuries and i think for the sake of my knees i can put up with a bit of monotony!!
