Hip pain

Am in agony and care barely walk after a 4.5km run this evening. Started coming on after a 10km sponsored walk on Sunday then a fairly gentle 3.5 km run on Monday. It was hurting a bit on Tuesday so rested until today. When I say I run, it is a very gentle jog and an sure I am not over doing it, any tips on how to get over this awful pain ? It's like neck of femur as opposed to my pelvis.

Sounds like you need to see your doctor and a physio. Hope you haven't done anything drastic.

Sounds like a visit to your GP or a physio is due! Hope it settles down, or goes away completely.

See a professional and get it checked. :) Sorry you are in pain.x

Get it checked- I tore a calf muscle in week 5 and had to have nine weeks resting, ( just back to week one now) GP said two to three months recovery and I also paid for a few physio sessions to help too. We don't want long term issues so do please seek medical advice !

I had the same problem when I started c52k. You should go to the doctor for your own piece of mind. I went to the doctor although I was very worried that he could tell me to stop running. He suggested stretching hip muscles and ibuprofen. He told me to keep running. I stopped running for a week went on with hip stretching and it never happen again. Buttock stretches worked the best for me. nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...

That doesn't sound good. So far I have not experienced hip pain at all so don't know what to suggest. Obviously rest is important if you have so much pain. Is it all the time or only when you make particular movements?
