This is my second day on my 5k, and I have managed to up my time on the treadmills to 30 mins.. Again I am really please with myself, and my food intake was a bit less. I have switched to herbal teas during break and lunch times instead of my normal pg tips. For my lunch today, I haVe brown with a small amount of pasta sauce. I must say that I did not feel at all hungry in the afternoon.

I just want to let know guys, that I am not dieting beacause I want to be stick thin, it is about my health. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure . These have nothing to do with my lifestyle , unfortunately I have inherited these diisease from my parents. I have always try to maintained a healthy lifestyle , I have never smoke and not a heavy drinker., apart from the occasional glass of rose wine , maybe 4 glasses weekly.

I have my annual health check last month and my hbac and blood cholesterol level has shot up, and my doctors wanted to start me on statin on a very high dose. But I was adamant that I was not going to live on tablets for the rest of my life.

Thus my journey to a healthy lifestyle , and a1000 a day calories intake started.

My Gp said to me I would never get off my high blood pressure and diabetes tablets. I want to prove him wrong.

I have type 2 diabetes and take ramipril for high blood pressure. My latest diabetes blood tests show as in the normal range and my practice nurse suggested i could come off my blood pressure meds (of course the GP scoffed at this idea - coming off tablets - no way!!!).

Most of this is down to diet and exercise - so I'm glad I got injury free this year (well we won't mention my knees) and back out again thanks to Couch to 5K.

I've been on blood pressure meds for about two years, and I've just decided all of a sudden I don't want to do that any more. (I'm also overweight and not very fit) so I've just started on C25k. I want to go to my doctor at my next 6 month check-up and surprise the hell out of him! Good luck with your journey Edith, the support here is incredible! Steve x
