I have just completed third run of week 1 and feeling quite proud of myself. I am 67 never done any running before although I do cycle and swim. First two runs were at the gym but today I plucked up the courage to go to my local park so quite pleased. My aim is to complete a Race for Life next year. Hope week 2 goes as well as week 1.
Well done for getting on it at 67 - you are not alone here - most of us are no spring chickens (though we may feel like it still)! Stick with Laura, the programme and us and you'll be fine for that race for life!
I have just started the programme too and I am 65 and nine months!. I don't really run because of my bronchiectasis. BUT, I thought I can do this in the gym on the static bike. I started with apprehension because I get short of breath. although I came near during the intense biking, it was still tolerable. I was glad to be able to go into catching up for 90 seconds. I really feel exhilarated. I want to carry on, on the static bike. One thing I must do is to press the button to convert into km rather than .065 miles! I hope you love it too. Well done Laura. Good to be proud of one's achievements!
