Dragged myself out of bed this morning and decided that today was the day.
Week 1 Run 1 completed and alll ok with the exception of an element of cramp (possible shin splints) in my left shin - something for me to watch out for.
Quite chuffed.

Well done, the first week is the hardest to do. With regards to the shins, are your trainers new? If not it may be worth trying a new pair, I used to suffer from tight calves during and post runs, I bought a new pair of trainers just for running on the treadmill in and the tightness hasn't come back since.
Keep posting up your runs and there's a couple of things to keep in mind:
1. No such thing as a failed run, if you aren't able to complete a run, it's a practice run, nothing more, nothing less.
2. Slow and Steady, this will help you get to the end of every run, you aren't going to break any records so why try? The aim is to be able to run for 30 minutes non-stop at the end of week 9.
Have fun and welcome along.
Well done!! Week 1 definately the hardest! You can do it!! X
Excellent and well done - this programme definitely works so hope you continue and good luck🏃🏃♀️
Fantastic.... go you 🤗
Brilliant. Well done to you!
Well done! 🙂
I don't think you'll get shin splint after one run!
Go very slowly and carefully! That's the important bit 😃👍
Well done.😊
I suffered from all sorts of niggling aches and pains in the first to few weeks - think it was just long underused muscles tendons etc making themselves known! All settled down about week 3.
Just take it slowly and don't overdo it and I'm sure you'll be fine!
You should be chuffed, well done for making a start it is a brilliant programme just stick to plan, have rest days and slow and steady 👏
