W5R2 in the rain - magic!!

Morning all. Not posted for a while but been reading what everyone is up to most days. Started back last week after faffin' for a few months and decided to start properly this a.m and start my 3 x 6a.m runs today.

This was the first run since I started way back in April that was in not only pitch black darkness but bucketing with rain - and I enjoyed it!! The warm shower straight afterwards was amazing too.

So to those of you who jump right back into bed once they see the rain, go for it! (But there again I live in Scotland so I'm kinda stuck if I diny want to run in the rain!!)

Have a great day folks xx

Well done you, I ran in the rain this morning too, and feel great for it! Do you run with any lights as its so dark, or have you got street lighting? I love my early runs, but worried the dark is going to limit my route. Good luck with your running xx

Usually I run with my buddy down a very quiet county road and head torches but as I was on my own I decided to run the streets around me that are well lit. It's very quiet but I don't worry about that too much. It's a close knit community and I know loads of folk that live round about and if I was at all worried would just chap a door. I also tell hubby when I should be home.

It's a shame it's so dark now but don't let it stop you :-)

I had my first rainy run as well this morning - a fairly stiff breeze too. D'ya know what - I loved it! Fortunately I got out and back before it really started bucketing down, but it was cool and refreshing and much nicer than I had thought it would be. Invigorating would be the word. A great start to the day (7.15 out - wore my dayglo yellow top from SD so I was fairly visible even though it was rather gloomy) and a nice warm bath after. Fabulous!

Yes, if we wait for a break in the weather we can wait for weeks! LOL It's ok to run in the rain as it's cooling, so most of us have got that we just shrug it off once we've got used to it. It's surprising just how quick we acclimatise. I was a super wuss but now I'm much less fussy and will run in owt!

Good luck with your runs!
