Rub in torrential rain!

Today was Wk6 run 3. Up until now we've managed to be so lucky with the weather. Every run has been in lovely weather apart from 1 day when there was slight drizzle. I got up this morning and the rain was torrential! My husband assumed i wouldn't be running and would chicken out but with my friends help (who I run with) we convinced ourselves it would be ok. The walk was awful - cold ant wet, we laughed at the state of us. Then the run started and I have to say it was fab!!! Don't know whether it was the joy of no more start stop run walks, the concentration needed to stop falling into flooded pavements or the sheer comical state of what we looked like, but I actually didn't want to stop running when Laura announced 25 mins was done. This was by far the easiest and most enjoyable run yet! So the moral of my story - don't be put off by torrential rain and the thought of looking like a drowned rat:) In a perverse way you may actually love it:)

Fab. Well done! I didn't enjoy it so much this morning, but it was the wind rather than the rain which got me down.

PS don't you just LOVE predictive text! I had visions of all sorts of naughtiness when I saw your title!

I love running in the rain. So refreshing. I have actually gone off route to pull down low hanging branches to drench myself when its a bit warmer.

Wind? Meh. Not so keen.

Love running in the rain, not the wind though.

Did a run once that included high wind, thunder and lightning, rain and hail stones. It wasd quite nice when i set out, but I was glad to get home from that one!

Totally agree - I ran in the pouring rain on Sunday morning and enjoyed it far more than I thought I would! Like you I returned home looking like a drowned rat, but you know what? Didn't care!! Today it was W6R2 (no rain!) and glad that my interval runs are now over. Here's to my W6R3 on Friday - hope mine goes as well as yours. Well done!

I followed up my 'dark' run on Friday with a Monday evening 'dark and pouring with rain' one this week. As you said, it's just the walk that's unpleasant - after that it's fine. :) Looks like tonight's going to be a blowy one, though, so I'm really not looking forward to that...
