1st time in the rain

I complete week 6 run 1 last night. I know I have been lucky so far as all of my runs have been in the dry. I run after work so don't get to go out until around 5.45pm. Last night I went out and just as Laura told me to start my first run it started raining. It was the icy cold rain that comes across Wales from Ireland and hits you sideways. It was also really windy and gusty. It was right in my face but I thought it would be ok as it will be behind me pushing me on on my way back just when I need it. How wrong could I be. I turned around and the wind and rain turned with me :(. I still managed to complete my runs and including the warm up/cool down walk I completed 2.8 miles. Not bad. I just hope that it isn't raining on Wednesday. I am looking forward to the runs without walks but feel a little apprehensive that tomorrow night will be my last run/walk :) . It will be interesting seeing how far I can run as I am sure I run slower than I walk.

You'll do perfectly fine with non-stop running. You've done the training, and you're now ready to take that step (if you'll pardon the pun). Just remember (as always) that it's about time and not distance, so run as slow as you need to without worrying about how much distance you cover.

I feel with you running in the rain like that. Not fun at all! Well done for finding the determination to carry on regardless!!

It is a well known runners law that there is no such thing as a tail wind. You are always running into a head wind !😀

Good luck with the running!

Well done! I did Wk6 run 2 last night in the cold and wind but I was luckier than you as I missed the rain by about 5 minutes. So I have done my last run with breaks and here comes 25 minutes. Keep running and enjoying. WE CAN DO THIS.

Usually running in the rain is a real pleasure, but not at the moment, it's grim out there isn't it? WEell done for keeping going you'll be doing HMs in the sleet with Tomas in no time x

thanks. Not sure HM's are for me. I will be happy to do the 5k. I am already getting a bit nervous about where to go after C25K though. I need to download the extra podcasts. I think I need Laura or I will let the gremlins in. I still haven't managed to get on the Coastal path which is my goal at the moment. I live near a castle and a beached ship so it will be great to run up to them.

That route sounds great, it's all part of the fun looking forward to places you can go when you can run further. I'm finding out all sorts of stuff about my City that I never knew.. xx
