Woohooo just graduated last week and thought I would see if I could run a 5k - it was a blistering 'smail' pace of 38 minutes! I cannot pretend it wasn't easy as my left leg was screaming for me to stop. But hey what the heck I completed it and I am hopefully ready for my first public run the pretty muddy in two weeks time.
What a fab feeling - would have never guessed I would have been able to do this. Now going to stick to the 10% rule and completed 33 minutes on the next run.
Happy running xx

Thanks guys and really should have stuck to the 10% increase per week but just wanted to see if I could do it. Ahhh was a bit wet but I would much rather run in the rain and cold than hot sun happy running everyone and thanks again for your support.
Thanks teabreaks - I never take myself seriously lol but Mo has nothing to worry about lol but boy that did hurt a little bit but no-one died!!! Woohoooo excited again!!! Bring on the mud and then the park runs xx
OMG we've created a monster, lol. You could mix it up a bit,see if you like the stepping stones podcasts, still with Laura. You can work on speed, stamina etc. They are still 30 minute runs so you may also want to work on increasing your distance by 10 % once a week. Then there's the bridge to 10k podcasts. let us know what you decide to do!
You have indeed its a kat monster lol I hate to admit this but I never used the podcasts once - just used the written plan and off I went - I just used my own music on an ipod and a watch. I've since treated myself to a garmin.
So I need to find the bridge to 10k in a written plan xxx has anyone got a nice easier one for a beginner like me to do lol xxxx
