First 5k done!!

Completed the Race for Life 5k today and loved it (despite the heat!). I graduated the c25K programme on Tuesday managing 4k in the allotted 30 minutes so was even more chuffed to have done my first 5k in 36 minutes!

The day was fantastic and the atmosphere was brilliant - I'd definitely recommend it to anyone on here (or beyond). The run was in the same park that holds a weekly ParkRun so I'm definitely tempted to have a go at that now I've got an idea of the route.

Onwards and upwards with post graduation plans - think I'll try for a couple of 30 minute runs a week, followed by a longer weekend run (maybe ParkRun?) before thinking about the future......10k next? Who'd have thought I'd ever be saying that!! :)

Well done Shelwa77, good time too for your first 5K in the heat as well which is very tiring.

I did my first Parkrun on Saturday and will be doing it again, they are having a special on Tuesday 5th for the Queens Jubilee so I think that will be my next one.

Good luck and the 5K will get easier too the more times you do it.

Shelwa we did this both on the same day in different parts of the country but in that hot weather, AND we both completed it within a good time.

Great feeling isn't it!
