Well I though I would give it go as I could run 30 minutes. So I entered my first Park run Saturday. It was the first time I have ran with others so was not sure what to expect. I finished in 29 minutes ! Yay . So happy, a month ago this 51 year old could not run to catch a bus.
Continuing running, I guess the more I keep on the easier it will get.
Bring on the great south 5k in October

No I don’t think so, not particularly, had not really exercised in the last 30 years! The C25K along with head phones and a determination to prove a point to my wife got me there I think you have to really want to do it, once you enjoy that evening or morning run, it’s no longer something you “have to do” and it all falls into place ... well that was how it was with me anyway
Well done! Have you finished the programme? Make sure to get your badge if so! Also be very careful of too much/too fast/too soon - injury can bring everything to a crashing halt!
Yep. I think I was close by week 8, I was running 30 minutes, no idea of the distance though ! Week 4 was definitely the hardest for me. Once I was confident I could run 20 minutes I though “what’s another 10 minutes “. .... it was a lot!! The park run was my first "measured" run
I was only 20 seconds or something inside of it running the local park run with a group of obviously better runners who could have left me standing but instead helped me the first timer around certainly helped. Was a great experience and highly recommended it.
Make sure you keep enjoying the running first though. Time is a byproduct of running 😀 You will surprise yourself at some point. Everyone here does. I did last weekend. It’s ups and downs for sure and for sure you will go faster, in time 😃
