You can do it! I started a year ago in March and recently completed my first half marathon. And it has not been a struggle. I have enjoyed almost every run🏃‍♀️💪

You can do this, but be prepared for a bit of arguing with yourself ;)

It's great you've set yourself a goal date to aim towards with the 10k, but remember to listen to your body as well.

Enjoy your first run and the many to come!

Well done for setting a date to start & a long term goal.

I agree with Haybop, you will argue with yourself 😁.

Enjoy your running & let us know how you are getting on - we are a friendly bunch on here & like to cheer you on xx

I started on my 47th birthday - and just ran a parkrun as my celebration last run at the end of week 9. I too have a 10k in September. I did all my 9 weeks in the gym due to low self esteem - but Im now out on the road 3 times a week doing 5k each time. Well done you for starting and good luck

Yes! Positive mental attitude is the biggest hurdle and you've got it. Very inspirational indeed. I never, ever saw myself as a 'runner' and while I am no near the seasoned runners here, I do love the fact I pushed myself and got there in the end. You'll do great and this forum is a fantastic place for motivation, sharing thoughts and off days where you will get plenty of support and be able to support others too. Go for it and be your best self!

Well done! The programme is fab and has made runners of thousands of us. Some have gone on to run marathons. There are two recent marathon reports on here at the moment on the race support board. Have a look 😃
