Holiday or Procrastination?

Is it procrastination that having completed week 4 last week with no problems, I'm not starting week 5 until I get back from holiday in a week?

Should I do week 4 for one more run in case my fitness has dropped in the two week gap?

Yes, that's procrastination. I think "exercising in advance" is as useful as drinking all your beer for two weeks on one night to prepare for a period of abstinence. Why not bring a t-shirt and a pair of trainers and carry on the training while vacationing?

It's a volunteering holiday so I may be expected to be on call a lot of the time. I'll pack my kit and see what I can fit in though.

Damn I thought this was a good excuse :p Really lost motivation this week as I was away Mon, had a crappy day Tues, busy Wed and by yest didn't see the point in doing only one run this week :(

The one week gap became two and here I will be on week 5 in Sept when I should be on 7. At least if I train next week I'll be on 6 when I return.

That's the spirit! I'm sure the kit will fit in a small corner of the suitcase :)

Enjoy the volunteering and have a wonderful time .

Hi Megan, I agree with Tomas . Try and maintain running consistantly and completing all the runs in the programme to prepare you for the longer runs as well as the shorter run / walk intervals to build your stamina and maintain your success:)

Come on....You can do this!

Same thoughts here - you really should try to fit in those runs! How are you travelling? I know of one person who used the idle time at the airport to jog around some of the quiter walkways (does rely upon you having a travelling companion we can look after day clothes while you run...). Come on, you can find a way to do this!

Thanks for the support everyone :)

There is always a point in doing 'only one run'. Any run is better than no run (so they say). Imagine how good you will feel about yourself if you manage volunteering AND running !!
