I’ve been gradually working my way through C25k again and I’m being over careful not to push too far and aggravate old injuries. So I have repeated week 5 run1 four times now before finally today going on to run week 5run 2!! When I think I used to run for a couple of hours without turning a hair!!! This was only 8 minutes twice with a 5 minute walk.
I felt really heavy and tired most of the way through but I plodded on and completed it, albeit very very slowly. Old Floss would have been proud of me!! 🐌. I’m still waiting for it to get easier and I’m sure it will if we get some more sunshine. So I won’t dwell on how hard it felt I will rejoice in the fact that I did it!! 💪🏃♀️
I think the fact I am carrying about a stone more weight isn’t really helping but that’s another battle😩.
Hope you all had a good run today. I’m snuggling up with Mimi( see pic) , a cuppa and my Kindle for a while now I’m showered and dressed again.

Yes, I am proud of you... As are we all...but mostly, you should be proud of yourself.
Your strength and determination. even in the face of injury, setback, wind and weather is incredible.
The sun will come, and we will run in sunshine...until then, keep on with your steady progress... do it your way... and...take as many snuggle breaks with Mimi as you wish to.
thanks yeah I know I am usually far too hard in myself. My son is rehabilitating himself after his heart attack and he was running on a treadmill, doing run2 mins, walk2 and came home and said “ oh I ran 5k in 39 mins today!”.
So after I said well done I then sulked because my fastest time was only 20 seconds faster than that when I was really fit ….😩but as he pointed out he is 23 years younger than me and also his legs are a lot longer. So yes I didn’t ought to be so hard on myself
You are doing so well, oh that extra weight doesn't help does it? I've got some as well, hopefully some spring sunshine will help you feel the joy of running, be proud you did it and aww Mimi is gorgeous
Thanks yes Mimi is gorgeous. She is nearly 14 now and showing signs of dementia. First one of mine to ever do that. I’ve had a 16 and a19 year old before with no issues 😳.
She is on meds for reflux and I wondered if it was that at first but looking back there were a few incidents that we’d blamed on one of the younger ones and I now think they were her. She has taken to randomly going to the toilet in the dining room. (on the little cushion that the youngest sleeps on and also a couple of times on the Xmas tree skirt). And then other times she goes outside as usual so I’ve had to get the litter tray out of storage and she uses that about 90% of the time. And then like this morning she had weed right beside the tray but then after I’d cleaned that up and then gone and made my breakfast after my run, she decided to use the litter tray properly…… and I had to open the windows before I could face eating 😂😂.
Also sometimes she comes in and gets on my lap and peers into my face as though she’s not sure who I am and then miaows really loudly at me!! But we love her so much and she is such a lovely cat, always purring loudly. And still playing fetch and bossing the other 3 around , bless her!!
Yes but having lost 2 young ones at 18 months and 2 years old to antifreeze poisoning , I think it’s hard however old they are, so I’m just making the most of my old girl while I can.
