I went to Bulgaria and took the trainers with me. Best runs I've had in a while. Seen some places would never have seen.

I took my running shoes on holiday in France last month and did 2 early morning runs which were a tad hot! Then the heatwave hit and there was no way I was running in 26’ at 7am. 🤣🤣

Sounds lovely, suppose I could take my stuff, the heat and running alone puts me off l, I’m scared of losing what I’ve gained. I always feel so good afterwards although admitted sometimes at the time I want to cry 😆

You won't lose anything in just one week, don't worry 😁

Up to you... if you have space for kit, just take it and see, if not, just enjoy your holiday 👍🏻😁

Depends where you are going on holiday , a lot of places have parkruns but check what time they start , I usually pack my running stuff and wear my trainers to get to my destination , I’m in Greece at the moment done one 4K run but it’s very hilly so just took it easy , I like to run whilst away as you get to see things you would normally miss the sights sounds and smells of a different country or area

I find running whilst on holiday so empowering, I feel much more connected to the area I'm running in. Ran in Spain a few weeks ago, quite early morning to avoid the heat and very high UV.

I had two weeks in Zakynthos and it was just too hot, even early in the morning. Didn’t run at all, came back and my next run was no problem. And, I am only on week 3 so am sure you’ll be fine x enjoy your holiday!! 😃

This exactly what I’m trying to decide, I’ve just ran w5r2. I might get another 2 maybe 3 runs before we go. Kids are trying to persuade me to run on treadmill in gym when away but I’m clumsy scared I will fall off! Enjoy your holiday

I loved running on holiday and ended up doing a little run each morning by the sea. But only because my boyfriend was totally happy with the arrangement and it worked well for both of us. He had an early morning stroll on the beach too and so we both found we had a lovely start to the day.

Imo it’s totally up to you as I think there’s pros & cons to both - you could take at least the basic stuff (& your barcode in case you want to do a parkrun) and then if you feel you want to run you can....? Enjoy whatever you decide to do 🤗 x

I was talking to a lady at Parkrun yesterday and she told me they went to Norway for a few days and managed to fit in the Oslo parkrun before their flight back. She telephoned the organiser and asked if it would be ok if they took their suitcases along so they could go straight to the airport afterwards. Of course it was, that’s the spirit of Parkrun!

I took my trainers to turkey and managed 2 x 3k runs as 35 degrees at 8am proved too much for me!

I think your heading says it all. If you don’t think you’d enjoy it, take a break. In a week, you won’t suffer any ill effects. You don’t say where you’re going, so the likely weather may well be a determining factor. I ran last month in Spain and France along the coast, which I can’t do in my landlocked county and it was brilliant. Take your kit and if you feel like it, go for a run. If not, just leave them in your suitcase. Have a great holiday.
