Week 8 Run 2

Having rested since Monday last week I went on a very cautious run 2 today....and completed it. No aching calves although my sciatic problem is still there but not as bad now. I did some careful stretches when I got back and things were okay. I might have 2 days rest now before run 3 . I covered 4.2 km so that target is in sight!

it is awful when things go wrong and you are in pain as i well know with my knee. So badly want to get my confidence back with running but so fearful that if i push too hard my knee will get worse and become a permanent issue. Although i have returned to three times a week 3mile runs, i have limited my self to one easy route, no inclines or declines and no real speed and it is so boring!!!!!

I have something similar at the moment, although I think you're a little further on the road to recovery If you are able to run on it. I've been frustratingly resting for two weeks now and I'll probably leave it another two before trying again. My daughter is a dancer and has been suggesting that I do glute strengthening exercises with her and having read that stronger muscles in the legs will help me avoid knee injury in the future, I think I'm going to take her up on the offer!

Thanks everyone. My problem is definitely nerve based because as soon as I sit for long periods I get that achey twinge going off. Not this morning. I'm having a day standing up as much as possible!
