Tomorrow I am going to do a 15 klm training run - I want to do this twice before I run in the Sydney C2S on 10 Aug. I will be using a walk run ratio of 2mins run/1 min walk and have carefully mapped out a course that resembles the actual race course. The most significant features of this run is (for me) is 1. the first hill (which commences almost immediately at the start and goes up 20 metres (65 feet) over 1 klm --It's not that steep or long but I hate hills at the very start of a run) and 2. the "killer" hill which starts at the 6klm point and goes up 80 metres (260 feet) over 2 klms.
I am not taking any equipment that tells me pace or distance done -- I just want to complete the circuit, even if I finish up walking it - and then I will see how long it has taken me. I have already done 13klm of this on an even hillier course so I think I should be able to do this slightly less hilly one.

Crumbs Bazza, that massive hill looks a bit scary! However, you can can do it because you've put the training in. Go for it m'dear and good luck! (Hope the weather's kind to you !).
Good luck bazza. Your keen that's for sure. I hate hills. Id run an extra km to avoid them haha. Good on you tho. I'm sure youl cope fine. Not long till your big run now
Great to receive a prayer request! Psalm 18;32 onwards says ; God arms me with strength and makes my way perfect, he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he makes me like a deer that does not stumble, he helps me stand on the steep mountains...........he gives me his shield of victory and his right hand sustains me, he broadens the path beneath me so that my ankles do not turn over.
This is my prayer for you,
and all your hard work will be rewarded, I am in awe!!!!!
I'm on my knees and facing east...now where did I drop that contact...? Seriously, I wish you ever success in your training and the run. Looking at the pics, it should be an amazing day.
Take care, take time to look around at what is going on, and above all, try to enjhoy every minute.
I'm on my knees, preying for you - though I don't think you need it, or luck- it sounds like you have been doing the training for it. Good luck any way, you'll hear us cheering for you from here. Make sure you let us know how you do!
My friend, who is a teacher, says that when something is tough we need to make a plan and boy have you got it planned! You'll be great, I'm sure. Those hills look tough but we have every confidence in you! Good luck!
