You were asking for a photo of the new resurfaced and new boardwalk that I was going to use when I go for a 3K run, so I went that run this afternoon, it's a circuit round a large pond, in the photograph is the new boardwalk, the circuit according to Mapmyrun is 850 metres, so the 1 Kilometre point is just beyond the trees about 50 metres past the boardwalk in the photo, I need to run round that pond 3 and 3/4 times to make up the 3K, I won't be running longer distances on that route, that route is about a 13 minute walk from where I live, there is a larger park only a 3 minute walk away from home that I can run a 5K, the 10K starts at around a 10 minute walk from where I live, it's 90% off road and even on the road there is a pavement.

Looks fabulous. After reading your previous post about rerunning your graduation route, I re-ran mine this morning & wasn’t disappointed. Thanks for invoking the memory 😊👍
Thanks for the photo Alan, it looks like a lovely place to run and perfect for shorter runs. You are so lucky to have those places to run within walking distance. Apart from my parkrun which is gravel all my runs are done on concrete, so I’m going to find some new running routes this year. 👍
I am lucky that I live in the centre of Central Scotland, I have taken that geographical advantage to all the places that I have gone to over the years, including recently parkruns and walking, cycling and running routes around near to where I live, that short 3K route, its 850 metres to the precise has been completely resurfaced including that new boardwalk, the old one was slowly sinking into the pond, getting dangerous to walk on, let alone run.
It was very good that the council did not close the walk down but immediately renewed the whole walkway, some councils would just close it down, sometimes for years.
Sounds like a great Council 👍
North Lanarkshire Council has been voted one of the best councils in Scotland, at least that is what they say in their newsletter I get usually around twice a year, when I get a letter to my address that they are coming for any repair or essential gas maintenance check they have always carried out any essential repairs or maintenance check by 12 noon, so I have never had a occasion where I have stayed in all day and they have never come, ha ha, after saying that I am due to leave for a concert in Glasgow on Thursday, I will have to leave at 4.50 pm, I have asked the council to come for a essential gas check on Thursday about 3pm, if they don't come by 4.30 pm I will have to miss the concert.
Lovely Al, thanks for posting this. I’ve never run on a board walk before, apart from short bridges. Is there any bounce in it? It sounds like you’ve got lots of good runs on your doorstep, which is great.
Not on that new boardwalk, the previous one had a short bounce on it even when you walked, I never ran on that route before it was resurfaced and when the old narrower older boardwalk was there, the old one also had more bends, where the new one is, only at the very start is the same.
Last Wednesday when I first walked over it I decided that this could be a good place for a short run.
