Off to turkey with my daughter for a week , we go Sunday & it's hot ! Now , I have the race for life a week after we come back & I want to get a couple of runs in while I'm there , but the heat ! I'd have to get up at 4am me thinks coz in May it was bad enough at 6 am . Any advice folks, I'm thinking evening runs ?

Check out the hotel gym and use a treadmill

I had the same concern a couple of weeks ago in Malta. I didn't get up early enough and by evening I was too full of food and drink to run! I was lucky, the hotel had a superb gym so ended up on the treadmill. I found it boring but it got the job done and at least I felt as though I had kept my fitness up. Enjoy your holiday anyway. x :-)

Oh well done Rockette! Another holiday in the sun. Like your style. It doesn't really cool down in the evenings there though does it. Scorchio most of the time.

Bono estente, nues meterologicas: Interior, scorchio. Exterior, scorchio... which was nice.

Treadmill in air conditioned gym or 4am outdoors.......tough decision. I know what MilesYonder would say.

Just remember hydration is doubly important. Have a great holiday Rockette. Have you remembered which school you went to yet?

Nope , I honestly haven't a clue ! Do you remember the Spanish City ? I remember that & spirit in the sky allways seemed to be playing at the time

I was in Turkey end of May beg of June and even then it was hot. I went out at 7.30am but really found even that time a bit too hot for running, I found it really tough. If you're in an hotel with a gym great, otherwise evening runs. I intend to run in the evenings when I go back in Aug. Only thing is evening runs may be affected by mosquitos. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Have a wonderful time...I have never run abroad so I don't know, but I would have thought very early mornings best...or an air conditioned gym!!!!

My vote is for the air-conditioned gym. Not sure which part of Turkey you will visit, but (if it is away from the main tourist areas along the coast), please be considerate in what you wear running outside.
