a good morning all i see a sports physio yesterday who told me i run too much and i need to do alot more hip exercises and some core work ,he also told me to try a slower run so i set off this morning not overly confident after last weeks effort and boy was it good in fact it was pure bliss no pain at all but i can still feel something there but i run a very slow 5k in 26 mins easy pace get in there :) going back to physio next week for a massage and no high tempo run s for 2wks but fingers crossed happy running all

I'm doing exercise DVD's at home to try and get stronger. Quite enjoying it actually, which is something I never expected to be saying

Good news Moger. Hope you can temper your natural drive to, er, drive yourself so hard. There's a lot to be said for core strengthening exercises too.

Building up core strength is something that we should advise everyone to do before they up their endurance too much. Getting everything balanced makes all the difference.

Good luck Moger. Take your time, there is no need to rush.

try running 7k avg pace for a few times bet your 5k gets quicker
