Started week 6 and feel great! But Laura has had her last chance!

Had an awesome run for the first day of week 6, but for the second time Laura gave up the ghost again (in the middle interval this time) and left me running for about a million miles! The only consolation was I felt really good so was happy to lope along for handful worth of songs before I fished out the phone. Sure enough she sprung into action and told me I'd only done 4 mins of the 8min stint. Wrong!!! So I skipped to the end of that bit and then finished the last intervals.

Got home and in total I went 6.5K including the walks.

So sadly Laura is out of here... I've grabbed Runkeeper and programmed in the intervals for the next run as it's getting a bit silly now!

A million miles is really good for week 6!! That app does seem to be a bit dodgy. There is always the good old fashioned podcasts which toughen you up with the genuine C25k "music" experience and are pretty reliable. But Runkeeper's interval facility will do the job, at the expense of not hearing Laura's nuggets of wisdom and advice. Technology is great.......when it works.

Wow, well done on your distance and getting week 6 under way. Seems that Laura is really playing you about now - can't blame you for defecting to Runkeeper. Good luck with your next run and hope the app you're now using works out well for you. Best wishes.

I used Runkeeper right through C25K - and continue to do so - for its ability to programme running/walking intervals. On top of that I also programme audio cues into it such that it reports my average pace to me every so often - sometimes only every Klm and at other times at shorter intervals right down to 0.25 klm. This allows me to set a pace - and also gives me an understanding early on if I am setting too fast a pace to easily complete a run distance.

You have definitely got the same problem as me. this is the stage where I used Laura for the welcome and walk and then switched to mapmywalk to do distance intead of time. 4kx3 for week 7, 4.5kx3 for week 8 and 5kx3 for week 9. This worked well for me, but I did revert to Laura for the warm downs for her words of encouragement. Good luck with whatever method you continue with but keep running !!

I'll definitely be continuing to run. It's too rewarding to stop now, plus I'm signed up for a race for life. I can't really overstate how satisfying is to be able to run for solid periods of time. I never thought I'd be able to do it and each time I come home, I'm literally counting the hours till I can get out there again. Running makes me really happy.

I quite like the idea of switching to distance in later weeks. Maybe I'll try and hold off till after graduation tho...
