So I erm decided yesterday didn't happen and that I didn't need a rest day and Bad Bunny agreed, Good Bunny was busy stuffing his face while Bad Bunny and I came to this decision so he didn't get any say.

And you know what with a little help from my friends I got through.

So early morning running kit on and decided no zip top today dilemma of where to put phone wasn't resolved so I am afraid it was just stuffed down my sports bra (bras the extra pockets women can't live without). Step outside. Holy *beep* it's frosty.

Right so who is going to start me off.

Good Morning Jace Everett, I'm freezing my tits off can we get started please. Ok 'Bad Things' and we're off brisk walk.

Thank you Jace yes I am warming up now but it's still a little nippy.

Oh hello Bryan Adams oh yes I think 'Summer of 69' would be perfect I will pretend it's not frosty and that mist is in fact a balmy sun haze.

Right Bryan are you ready the phone says it's time to start running, come on we can do this.

Oh darn and blast a person. What is a person doing out at this time, noooooo no one was meant to see me in my full on lyrca wonder outfit yet. Keep running smile, it's fine.

Ok phew they didn't pass out at the sight of me.

What do you mean you're tired Bryan you've hardly done anything yet. Well ok fine go if you must.

Hi Meat Loaf erm you are up to this aren't you, you understand it's running? Oh good. 'Bat out of Hell'.

Run don't sing, run don't sing.

You can't sing, you are already endangering the wildlife with the lyrca wonder outfit you don't need to further traumatise them.

Oh my god what's that? Have I ended up on a dark desolate moor? Is that the hound of the baskervilles? Oh phew it's just a black lab, oh and another one, oh and an owner - the shame two people have now seen me.

'Oh baby you're the only thing in the world that's pure and good and right....'

Stop singing.

Run.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I'm running :D

'And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell, and the last thing I see is my heart still beating...'

Hang on a minute that's one really long song that means we must be already almost half way through woooooooo.

Oh your leaving me now? Oh ok, I'm sorry if my singing terrified you, I promise not to do it again.

Time to 'Hush' my breathing with Deep Purple. Actually breathing is good, I've been doing it for 34 years. In 1 2 3 out 1 2 3.

Oh phew this is amazing but I fear an attack of the poodle the perm is about to happen. Good morning Bon Jovi boys 'Bad Medicine' is definitely what I need.

Holly crap a fecking cyclist sneaks up on me, use your bell or shout if you need me to move so you can pass dipshi..... *ahem*

'Great Balls of Fire' I am almost there, thank you for the encouragement.

'Welcome to the Danger Zone' (I like Top Gun don't judge) we're in the end zone now.

Check phone for time, one minute left.

Check phone for time ooooooooh 26 freaking minutes of running I could carry on....

I slow to a brisk walk. Keep with the program.

'It's So Easy' why yes Guns n Roses it really is.

So that's it Week 7 Run 1 properly in the bag.

I'm really sorry podcasts but your music is really poo, my playlist rocked.

Yay go me.

Oh yeah I left a very confused spaniel at home, I will take him on the next run.

Excellent post and I totally agree the music is rubbish on the podcast and I only started to notice this week (wk5). How do you play music and the podcast simultaneously?

Lycra doesn't look good on anyone but it's soon comfy and as long as it feels that way I am keeping it on. Keep up great posts.

Thank you. I just created a playlist and popped that on my iPod I knew roughly when the 5 minutes warm up would be up and which song the 25 minutes run would end. I then used runkeeper for the times so just checked it near where I thought I should be starting the run and then again for the cool down.

I believe there is a app version of the NHS podcasts which let's you play your own music but I'm not sure.

Awesome post Spoonierunning, your run sounds epic! So glad Bad Bunny came through for you- the threat of no carrots obviously did the trick. Have a great weekend!

I can understand why even Good Bunny might have said that yesterday didn't count (shows how far you've come that 10 or so minutes running doesn't feel like a proper session!)

But looking at your speed (I know you're on a clear flat place) I'm worried you are doing that boom thing that people like us are thought to be prone to, so think long term eh and don't end up in a bust. That's the thing with great music, it can encourage you to go faster... which is sometimes a good thing, and sometimes not.

It's a very slow speed isn't it!? I have no real idea about pace speeds but it's not far off this with Laura. I make sure I stay slow and steady and in fact on the couple of occasions I felt I was speeding up I slowed it back down. I also was careful to not carry on even though I felt like I could.

I am being very conscious of pacing at the mo - not just with the running bit but also the after, I head straight back to bed at soon as I get in (well after breakfast for everyone) and have a good rest before starting my day, I then try to keep my activity level light and head back to bed in the afternoon if I need to.

Er, I meant the opposite - it looks a bit on the possibly too fast side to me at this stage in all your circumstances! (Obviously for some C25Kers it wouldn't be) It was a while post graduation before I made it under 10m/k average.

In fact I did Speed yesterday and OK I was in the woods and there were a few obstacles to dodge round but I wasn't faster than you are now.

But for me it does feel slow, I can walk faster!

My average pace for yesterday when I walked most of it was 11.34 m/k I always used to be a very fast walker so I think as my legs are getting back their muscle strenght it's just what I do

Fantastic post and well done on getting this run behind you - you've certainly earned it. Glad your playlist worked well for you. Good luck with your next run and best wishes.

Thank you, I was glad that it was all just a blip and I could indeed do it with the right musical choice
