Sadly I cant' say that any of the runners I pass on my run would be called friends, as even though I smile, they usually look the other way,,,, I probably look so gross that they cant' bear to look but a smile doesn't cost a lot!!!!

I always smile at people I pass while running. Pass it on as they say. The picture, I was thinking more of the lovely supportive and encouraging people on here. And on a side note try not put your self down so much I have never ever seen anyone out running who looks "gross". And I personally don't ever think I will. Your right though I always have a grumble at the grumpy.

I agree, RFC - it really sums up this community! And you're right too about appearances. I'm sure nobody even thinks about what other runners are looking like - they're too busy thinking their own thoughts and getting through their runs. Love this picture, thanks for sharing.

Some people 'zone out' and just don't notice others, some are too self-conscious to smile. Definitely a case of 'about them, not you', don't take it personally and keep smiling.
