Wow it was light this morning!

Well what a difference two days make. I leave for my runs as near to 6.20am as possible so i am home for 7am to get ready for work. Friday was dark. I have had a few mornings where breaks in the cloud gave me hope for spring and long days but Friday was dark.

This morning, I turned into a road which at end has open fields and it was definitely day light up there. Not completely and it was about 6.50 by then but the lightest i have seen it since probably the end of September. It made me smile - Yeh! :) - nearly spring. Clocks will go forwards soon!

Now i love the anonymity of running in the dark but I must say it was nice to see daylight!

And when the birds start singing and you know you've got the whole spring and summer ahead of you it's just fantastic!

I'm also a morning runner (apparently it's supposed to be bad for you - but I love it!)

Is it supposed to be bad for you.. why is that? I did all my runs before Graduation in the mornings early..and I am doing my Couch to 5K+.then too.

Have I damaged myself ... :) or is it because at that time it ALWAYS rains on me...:)

I was browsing on some runners website yesterday (as you do) and it said running on an empty stomach is counter-productive. The body then pulls its energy from your muscles. Just generally all round not good. I'm definitely a morning runner though, before breakfast and I think I'll stick with that. I'll see if I can find the article again and send you a link.

Okay.. well thanks for that.. I will stick with my routine too... I have not had any problems...( touch wood) and I know that if I did not do my runs before breakfast, bright and early.. I probably would not get round to them later :)

Of course I can't find the article. Murphy's law! And I'm going to keep running in the morning, like you I wouldn't get round to it otherwise.

I started running in October, and like you I go out early so I'm back in time for work. I'm actually not looking forward to running in daylight! I like heading out in the dark. I see fellow runners, dog walkers, and the occasional passing car, but love the anonymity of it. Admittedly I'm in better shape than I was in October , but I'm still not ready to be seen by anyone!

completely agree - though when it is cold or windy don't you love the looks from dog walkers in their boots, hats, gloves, scarves etc!! I'm still thinking there will be less people at 6.30. Made the mistake one day - had the morning off and went at 8am - oh the shame of running through the school run!!! :)
