As some of you know, I'm a music student, and I headed back to uni today after my Easter break. Excellent, new running routes!! I headed out at about 8pm on a cold, damp, dark evening and started my walk. I then realised that i had got to the foot of a very steep hill at the end of the warm up walk! I always hated even walking up this hill, but running?! It was with a fair bit of trepidation that I started my run, but oh wow! I powered up the whole hill in my three minutes!! A month ago, I'd have to stop and take a break when I was walking it! The rest of the run was great too, I love running in the rain! Had a lovely moment when I met another person out running in the rain- didn't say anything, but experienced my first 'runners wave', we both exchanged a grin which basically said- 'yep, we are mad, out running in the dark and rain but loving it! Good luck to you too!'
Altogether, a lovely evening- came home to a hot shower and dinner and a glass of wine with my best friends- lovely!

Well done Debs; sounds like you had a great run! Long, steep ascents always seem to emerge right before a running segment, don't they?! They have a rather uncanny knack of doing that! Running in the rain is brilliant; have you ever noticed odd looks from people shuffling along in big coats when you're out running in the rain? Seems to happen to me all the time! Today's my rest day but when I woke up and saw the rainy deluge I was actually disappointed not to be out running in it!
Again, well done on making light work of the hill!
Great! Sounds like you are getting in to the running, and those hills are good for building your stamina. I love running in the rain x
Week 4 definitely seems to be your week. Well done on a lovely run and getting up a hill - amazing how fit we become in a relatively short space of time. Good luck with the third run of W4 and best wishes.
I'm one run into wk4 and can't believe I actually ran for five full minutes! Twice! I was so 'high' after it too. Well done on tackling a hill! I've done one hill while at my mum's farm over the Easter break and it wasn't half as bad as I imagined it would be. Good luck with the forthcoming week 5!
