Hennith has kindly copied the links from the nhs site on how to run correctly and how to stretch. We thought it might be helpful to everyone to have these links pinned , so here they are.

I note rather silly official response that the stretches 'are not aimed at people with arthritis or osteoporosis'. Yet again, an assumption that only people who were just lazy (or maybe depressed) and a bit overweight take up running.
Personally, I found watching all the stretching that so many runners do immediately after running very offputting and it was a disincentive to giving running a go. The fact that the NHS C25K podcasts explicitly do *not* involve stretching was one of the two most significant reasons I was prepared to risk it (the other being the running for 60 seconds)
I'm sure all the fussing is an attraction for some people but I wonder how many are put off?
Thanks for this. I visit this site & don't usually visit the nhs site so this is very handy.
I'm confused that the run correctly article suggests that you should strike the centre of your foot first, whereas the C25K app tells you it should be heel first. I think some consistency from the nhs would be helpful here.
