Well it was defo harder but I did it!!!!! On the last run I did chuckle when Laura said to slow it down .... If I'd gone any slower I'd have gone backwards!!! I really think listening to something to distract you helps, so I've downloaded some comedy podcasts.... So far so good!!! Bring on run 2
Woohoo week 4 run 1 ✔️: Well it was defo harder... - Couch to 5K
Woohoo week 4 run 1 ✔️
I like the comedy stuff! I'd not thought of that! You'll be running round laughing your head off which is no bad thing is it.
Happy running!!!
Teehee, know what you mean - and slow and steady really has gotten lots of us to the finish (eventually)! Love the idea of comedy podcasts - are you planning to play those alongside Laura's commentary? She does have a few more weeks of useful tips up her sleeve for you.
Lots of luck and laughs with your remaining weeks you're nearly halfway through ... All good stuff, keep on running
Yes I still have the lovely Laura .... It's great the way the podcast just quietens whilst she speaks, them carries on! I'm thinking if I really get into running longer distances in the future, I may look at downloaded those books that are read out..... Hahaha can you imagine listening to something like 50 Shades of Grey!!
JL...good for you in finishing. I did the same run Thursday, so have my second day today. I agree it was a lot harder. I had just received my Garmin watch in the mail and with great anticipation downloaded my data, and saw the same pace for the running and the walking bits. I suppose speed will come in time, but was happy I was at least 'simulating' running for 5 minutes in a row. I'm still pretty sore today, but plan to get out tonight. Let me know how you feel tomorrow and how the second run goes.
Ooooo what's the watch like??? It sounds a great idea! Good luck tonight... Let me know how it goes!!! I'm not doing any stretches, just the warm down walk.... Are you stretching? Perhaps if I ache tomorrow I'll look into it. I'll let you know if I'm suffering tomorrow xxx
Congratulations Lisa, you're doing brilliantly. I'm still a day behind you, so starting wk 4 tomorrow. I'm visiting family for the weekend and it's all very hilly round here, so I'll be attempting a longer run on a unfamiliar route with lots of hills. Worried doesn't come close!! On the plus side, hubby has decided he's coming with me. He's much taller than me with a longer stride, cycles a lot but doesn't run at all, so it could be *interesting*. I'm really hoping I can run further than him, so a little bit of competition could creep into tomorrow's run. Wish me luck!
Well done on your first run of week 4 - surprising how quickly the weeks pass isn't it? Good luck with the next two runs and best wishes.
