Good for you in getting out there. It didn't finish you off, you finished it! Make sure you have a good rest day, and stretch well before you go out for run 2. The good news is that you already know you can do it, it's just doing it again. Each run is different, some better and some worse. Hopefully the next one will be better : )

Well done for getting out there and making a positive investment in your future health and wellbeing. You will be able to do this, just keep going slow and steady. Good luck

I felt exactly the same. I also wondered if I would ever come to like running and my fave exercise was swimming. 5 weeks later amd I am a convert! I wanna run even in rest days :D

As a new runner my suggestions are take it slow and steady, take your rest days as non optional amd stretch well after your warm down walk.

Keep at it amd you will see your fitness levels increase and you will feel great too.

It does work if you go slowly. I graduated last week and 9 weeks ago doubted I would run for 30 minutes non stop.

Good luck

And becomes more fun as you plan routes and decide what to listen to after week nine. This week I ran listening to the birds rather than music and it was different.

I wasn't inactive when I started (2-3 Zumba classes a week) but I found my calves were really really killing me in week 2. I graduated last week. Some runs are harder than others, so take your time and it's okay to repeat runs if you don't feel ready for the next one. Definitely use your rest days. Well done :)

Well done for starting, that is the hardest part. Just keep going with the programme, steady does it, it really is fantastic. Check back on this forum if you need advice or inspiration, these people give it in bucketloads and are all friendly. Just stick with it. Good luck and enjoy! x

Well done. You've taken the biggest step by starting. You'll probably be surprised at how quickly your body adapts so don't give up now.

Congrats on starting! I had my doubts as well, but follow the podcasts and listen to your body and you'll be fine. I'm done with week 2 and it feels great to be able to follow this programme.

Well done for making a start on the programme. Just take it slow and steady and you will get there. As already stated, some runs are better than others, but it's worth sticking with it. Your rest days are essential so always make sure you take them. Good luck for run 2. Best wishes.
