I've seen articles on these before & they look a lot of fun but what do you think about breathing in all that "powder"? Not sure quite what to make of it.
I'm asthmatic and my hubby has told me I have to take and wear a face mask, there are just certain areas I'm told where the paint is thrown (hopefully). They provide sun glasses to protect the eyes.
Thanks old girl. It would have to be a mask. I have the feeling that would be very hard.
I do quite fancy this, or the one in Birmingham (based in Sheffield, I'm midway between the two!). But breathing in the powder bothers me too. I'd quite like my asthmatic daughter to do it but the powder could be a real issue for her.
I think it looks like fun. My parents are in Boldon so I think I could come up for it.
I am not in your area but you are definitely not losing your marbles! Go for it. Best wishes.
Go For It!!!!!! I did the color run at Brighton last year when I had only just started doing the C25K it was great fun, we wore a scarf to put over our mouths when we got to the colour stations which is the only time that breathing can be a problem, the paint is not really paint but coloured corn starch so isn't toxic and washing out of most things.
Haha Beek I have my eye on a similar run in Inverness in August, the fun aspect appealed to me and getting down and dirty or painted sounds great fun.
I was born in Sunderland and still have many relatives up there so for me it would be lovely to do it and then catch up with all my cousins.
I'm going to 'JUST DO IT' - life's too short to miss out on the fun bits! I'll keep you posted! Going to do my first Parkrun on Saturday. That's not actually true. I blobbed on my first one (lack of experience) so this one will be my first in the sense that I fully intend finishing this time! I am a great deal stronger than I was back then and have done a small number of 10k runs so should be able to handle a 5k this time. Hope so!
Hi Beek, I'd really love to do it but I'm north of Tyne and not sure I could face getting the metro back in that state. Let us know how you get on and enjoy your parkrun this Saturday.
I'm planning on doing the Brighton Color Run in September. Just going to buy a cheap "buff-type" thing for the color-stations, which I think are every kilometer. Reading the website, it's supposed to be perfectly safe.
