Well made it through the 1st week post graduation! My 2nd run on Thursday was a bit of a cheat really as my good intentions of getting up early didn't go QUITE so well, still i managed a 22 mins outing at 7am and completed part of the stepping stones 1st podcast(Hard work keeping up with Laura this time saying 1,2,3,4 keeping up with the beat!)

So today was 3rd Parkrun, quite uneventful this week, running with my good friend Tracy again, the sun was shining and i was getting more used to the run. Wanted to try and beat my PB as from next week it will return to its old venue which is more challenging, this route is lovely and flat! Didn't feel like my greatest run, my right calve is quite stiff til i get going for a while, but managed at the end a small faster burst(not as fast as graduation tho!) A good atmosphere there will lots of positive people!

Just got results through and its 33.07 mins( last week was 34.19) so over a minute faster...YAY!

My partner sped ahead again and came in at 23 mins! and he not even a runner ! humbug again!(and he has 10mile time trial on racing bike at 2.30 pm.......!).....Though my godson(aged 11) did speed past him in the final straight which pleased me!!!

Went to my Dads for tea and toast and to collect George dog, then went to local forest for a lovely hour in the sunshine.. Took a lovely picture to post but its too big and can't be uploaded :( , so you've got one of George instead!

Bit of relaxation now then off out with my mum...Busy, busy!

Hope everyone's having a good week, Happy running to you all......

Oh bless im! I used to have the JRT from hell! He used to run with my husband back in the far off days when he was not a lardy bum - my husband that is, not the dog!) JRT's have small hearts so take care not to exhaust the little guy!!!! They can run fast but not too far at once. Our little dog would be stuffed down my husband's running top on the outward leg. Then he'd fish him out and let him run back home. The top was a blouson style with a pull cord around the hem so he could tighten it to keep the dog secure. He used to poke his little nose out the neck hole!! So my husband had a weight handicap of 9.2 kg on the outward leg. Fortunately the dog never gained an ounce, which is more than can be said .......

We've only had him 4 weeks, sadly hes not that well socialized, came from a friend of a relation who wanted to re-home him as he was ruling the roost too much over their older dog. Mostly hes good but we are having some training sessions with a behaviourist to curb any bad habits. Hes just not been out enough mixing with dogs and people! But he was good on his walk yesterday. Yes he likes short bursts of running around then just a trot for a while :) Your dog sounds like a character! Hope you can encourage you husband to exercise eventually!?! Hows your running going?

Sounds like you had a good run and George the dog looks happy. I do like to read your posts to see your progress as I feel I'm a little behind you and you're an inspiration to me. I'm trying to build up to park run but been a bit unwell with chest cold. Felt down but still kept on my feet with lots of walks. So I'm getting over it a bit now though and recently done a jog of 28 mins with a little walk in the middle. Happy running. :-D

Thats very kind! I don't feel like an inspiration! i'm not a very confidant person in general! But i am trying hard with this running though its still hard work for me! First time i've ever stuck to anything much! Hope you are feeling better soon :) i really enjoy hearing from everyone on the forum as to how we are all doing...

What a lovely post. Congrats on all you've achieved. I'm in awe at all you fit in to your day. I have to collapse for the rest of the day when I've been out with Laura!

I've slipped back to Wk 6 having got to end of W7 then getting injured then flu. Feeling as though I'm never going to make it, so clumpy and slow, so thank you for the inspiration Aliboo. Hugs to cutie George :)

I do enjoy writing the posts! But probably makes my life seem a bit more full than it really is! I did enjoy my post run walk up the forest! Went for tea and cake with my mum but siezed up a bit after sitting down for a while !!! :( I've been lucky this year not having any flu. You WILL make it i'm SURE :) keep on going i will look out for your posts.................... George sends a best wishes lick to you! We've only had him 4 weeks so still working on getting him to be a well behaved dog!

With a JRT you'll sort of have to meet him half way. Infinite patience will be required and lots of love and kindness whilst being firm. They have their own agenda and do tend to want to boss everything, so firm but fair. Also they're not mind readers so some good training will help you to understand each other. As long as you are always kind to your little dog, and patient, you'll have a rewarding life together. It might be stormy on some days but you have to take the rough with the smooth. They are a hell of a lot of fun mind you but need lots of stimulation and exercise and without it they will be naughty. A tired JRT is the best behaved one. LOL

Yes that sounds like George! Think he has gone for quite a while without much fun in his life so hes enjoying it down here with us! The trainer we are using is very good and he has improved a lot just in these 4 weeks and lost weight too(he was a bit of a porky boy!) Hes very affectionate but can be snappy with new people and dogs, my old dog who i had for 17 yrs was sometimes snappy with other dogs but never with people so its just getting use to a new way of dealing with things! Hopefully he will be tired whan i get back from work- hes having a boys day! (better stop and get on with some work now :( its very quiet as the suns shining!)

You'll get used to being around him and you'll find the things that make him snappy, so hopefully you can iron out any wrinkles. With love, patience and endless exercise he'll be a real pal in no time. They do like to bond with one person so you could be his mum - but his boss as well - as they do take liberties if given enough rope. They are very loveable when they want to be so you'll get lots of reward for your patience. Hopefully!
