Well I completed my second run of week one this morning. I do walk and I am currently in training for the london moonwalk but running is something I have never done and do find it daunting! I have managed the last 2 ok but the thought of running longer than a minute at a time scares me lol. Please tell me it does get easier!?

I know exactly how you feel! I'm starting W2R1 tonight and I'm terrified at the thought of running for longer than a minute! This place does show that it's possible though which helps a lot :0)

Good luck with tonight's run, glad im not alone in feeling the way I do! Really does help having laura talk through it all. I have tried to run before but have always given up as never really knew what I was doing lol. How did you find week 1?

Hi Pamplemoose. I've just done week 2 run 2, so only a few days away from where you are. I must admit I felt the same as you. I too am a walker (with dogs) so felt (wrongly as it turns out!) the transition to running would be easy peasy! It's the lungs that let me down I think, at the moment anyway. Once I can get the breathing sorted I think the rest may fall into place. It's interesting how one can do more with ones body. There are so many people on here who have gone past the stage you and I are at. That gives me the oomph to go onwards. I think having Laura is fabulous. I too have tried running before but given up as I couldn't do the distance. But I think I was going about it in all the wrong ways. The walking and running combination seems so logical that I can't believe I haven't done it before.

Good luck! Keep going. Listen to Laura!

And you will manage the next runs fine too! I allow myself a walk now and again if I feel pain in my muscles - but not if I'm only feeling tired or being a wuss! Don't worry about the greater distances before you run them. You will be very surprised by how well your body deals with them. Well done you for setting out on this journey. You'll do it, trust yourself and think positive thoughts. It does get easier with time!

Thanks everyone, I think sticking with Laura and popping on here regularly will keep me motivated to continue. So many failed attempts at loosing weight, I am hoping this will help change my sluggish life!
