I did week 1, run 1 today?

I thought my heart was going to pop out!

Managed the runs but it nearly killed me?

I wish that Laura would count faster!

Anyway bring on Wednesday!

Good morning, I'm starting week 1 this week as well! First run yesterday.....not tooooo bad thiugh had rosy cheeks for a while afterwards! Next one Wed and then at the weekend for the last of 3. Was always hoping she would say something like "only 5 to go" or something like that!

Great well done for getting out there . We all felt the same that first time but did you also feel a sense of wow I did it! and I want to get back out as soon as possible? Enjoy your rest day and looks like "About to start' is at the same level. You could pare up as buddies and support each other all the way. This forum will help you both with lots of tips and encouragement. it has been a major support for me. Enjoy your journey and let us know how you are getting on. Happy running! :)

Well done for making the start! I started in January 2013 at the age of 63 and I'd hated running at school. Week 1 run 1 I couldn't complete the seventh and eighth 60 second runs - nine weeks later I could run for 30 minutes! Now I run three times a week around 5k. You can do it!

Ahhh, I remember W1R1 very well. I too thought I would never do it, but now I am now a grad and getting better all the time.

By getting out of the door and running for the first time, you have taken the biggest step by far. It really does get easier.

Remember, the rest days are very, very important; as is post-run stretched. These little blighters will stop you aching so much the next day.

Keep going and keep us updated. We are all very proud o have a new runner in our midst.

Well done to both of you. You've done the hardest part by actually getting up and out of the door for that first time. I agree with Carole01, you should pair up and support each other and compare notes. I'm on W9 and still get the same buzz that I did back in week one. Make sure you take your rest days though. It's easy when you're all fired up and raring to go to be tempted to do it all over again the next day. Keep coming back to the forum as we will all enjoy reading about your journey through the plan

Well done! It does get easier - just take it easy for the first runs, don't try to go too fast. xx

EPIC FAIL - after much faffing and making excuses, I was determined to start W1R1 last night. Stepped outside......switched on MP3 player.....nothing!

So went to the gym instead.Tonight.........!

Well done, you went one better than me!

Well done for getting out there and starting this great programme. Keep listening to laura and you will do great. I never thought I would be able do this programme but I did. I have just started the bridge to 10k and just started week 2. Good luck with your run tomorrow and keep us posted on your progress x

Congratulations on getting started! Remember it doesn't matter how slow you run - you'll always be lapping those still sat on the couch :-)

Well done you; keep it up and you will soon look back at that first run and find it difficult to believe how hard you found it. I was exactly the same, I thought I was going to be physically sick but I persevered and graduated just before Xmas - fell off the wagon for a few months but have hooked up again and started on Week 3. This is a great forum for support. Good luck and keep up the good work!
