Tried to mix up up week 5 run 3 - knowing it was a 20 minute run. So ditched Laura for somes 'tunes.
The problem I had was i didn't know how long I had run for (Windows Phone - for help please ...) so I had to judge it by the number of songs I'd listened to. Which is not as easy to do if your not puffing and panting, and wishing you hadn't started. So i took a random guess and found out that I had run 4k in 24 mins.
Laura welcome back, I know I strayed - but your back now.

You could install the TRAINING INTERVALS App windowsphone.com/en-au/stor... -on your phone. Then all you have to do is enter the different intervals that the C25K programme calls for each week and then you can listen to your music and also be alerted to the different time intervals. I do this on my Android phone using Runkeeper.
I don't know about the windows phone but if you download the c25k app then you get Laura with all her words of wisdom, clear timers counting up and down and you can choose you own music- best of both worlds! The music fades out when she talks so you can have it loud.
I have only one more run to go till graduation and it has worked perfectly every time ( iPhone 4S ) makes such a difference ( to me) to have different tunes for the longer runs which, on the podcasts, are the same each time. Each to their own I suppose.
You may find that map my run is useful too. When you no longer need Laura's words, It has so many great features as well as automatically tuning into your music and live tracking and coaching.
I tried running once to Rockafella Skank by Fatboy Slim but found I was running to the beat which, as you know, is all over the place. It must have been funny to watch!
The app wasn't available when I started C25K so I used Laura's podcasts and really enjoyed them. I still alternate the three C25K+ podcasts - I can listen to my own music the rest of the time.
I did it too... actually my app went wonky and I ran with spotify and runkeeper and ended up doing an extra 9 minutes, with only half of the allotted recovery walks, because I had got the timings wrong. Great to know about this app which allows intervals, because I don't think you can manually programme Runkeeper? This will be good for the longer runs because my only criticism of this programme is the music.
Hi Redditch Mark. Try setting your phone alarm maybe? I use Map my Run alongside the podcast, and I have a simple running watch which allows my to time the run if I want to. To be honest I have found Laura and the podcast great for the c25k programme.
