Can anyone recommend a yoga DVD for runners?
I am not a 'join a group' sort of person and would rather do it at home at a time that suits me.
Thanks x

It also saves a few pennies doing it at home!! I haven't found a DVD (well, I haven't looked for one) but I did discover Tara Stiles and she has a website and also lots of videos on Youtube such as this very short one: youtube.com/watch?v=ad9N_i_... Her website is: tarastiles.com/
She has quite a few workouts for runners. I've found that she talks quite quickly but if you watch it first and then play it again you get the idea of what to do. I suppose that I like the way that she does without the 'Yin' and 'Yang' and 'Ohms' of some Yoga things but the stretches seem good. I like it!
I've been doing yoga for dummies it's on YouTube for free the full 50 odd min version it's brill really doable and perfect for beginners
Will it make me be as supple as the Olympic skaters Rockette. Some of their positions were breathtaking.
hi gypsydepp
i found yoga great for helping me control my breathing when running but I went to a hot bikram yoga where you get a real cardio workout as well as good stretch.
I dont know much about yoga at home but if you are looking for some great exercise workouts and stretches go to ptprograms.com.au. Its all free unless you want a personal programs developed)
I would recommend hot yoga just for a few weeks you'll be surprised at what a workout you get
happy yogering
They have some Yoga for Runners videos that can be downloaded on Yoga Downloads
yogadownload.com/Utilities/...
I have used these, they are great.
One comment I would make is to just be a little cautious about doing yoga at home without having had any previous input from an instructor.
I've recently joined a Pilates group and actually need a lot of direct input from the instructor as to my posture etc during the class, otherwise I just tend to roll around on the mat doing everything a little bit wrong. Having said that, I am particularly uncoordinated, so that may just be me!
I found Leah Bracknell yoga and you...it's a very slow yoga but it stretches you and relaxes you.....which is what my poor tight hamstrings need! There's also ddp yoga....his voice is a bit annoying but the yoga is good xxxx
Thanks everyone xx
I did jillian michaels yoga this morning, level one as I am a beginner.
Crikey it was a bit full on. LOL
You might like to have a look at what is offered free by Ekhart Yoga on YouTube - there are some specific ones for runners.
