Really pleased with myself.. I was a bit nervous, but it was actually ok, even with some slightly hilly parts. Has anybody else found their hips hurt a little after running?? I am a little overweight, about 2 stone, but didn't think it would have that much effect on my joints!!

Sometimes running on slopes, especially down slope can lead to join pains. Stretch well and give your joints some rest. If you can find some eucalyptus oil, a few drops of that in your bath will work like a charm

Well done on starting!! It might not be your joints that ache- I had hip pain and it turned out to be my hip flexor's. Apparently when I started running my thigh muscles were being used loads because my bum muscles were really weak so it caused the tendons to tighten. Running or walking up hills (providing you shorten your stride) is brilliant for your bum! Other things it could be are a little inflammation or muscle soreness.
Make sure you take rest days and if it lasts more that 3 days or gets very painful I'd get it checked out in case it develops into a injury.
Good luck on your running!!!

Whey hey! Well done you. Lots of stretching should help with your aches. Try these from this website.
Yes, my hips were pretty sore, but they seem a lot better now thankfully
