Well have myself a week off to try and get on top of the shin splints. It worked.
Went out for my W9r3 and did my 30 mins. Got home to find of lost my house key so I am reporting my graduation run whilst standing outside my house in the rain waiting for someone to drive over and let me in.
Luckily the key is just a key so if someone finds it there are no identifying marks but I need to find a way of leaving a key out so this doesn't happen again.
I live alone and don't relish drilling into the wall to fix a lock box but I can't think of another option.
Other mild disaster was I couldn't work my garmin bug know I was slow. Probably did 3k though on my C2KB programme (couch to Kylie bottom-that is my goal as I can't see 5k being achievable ever but anything remotely resembling a Lylie bum means I might wear a pair of jeans if feeling brave).

Firstly, congratulations on graduating!!!!! I also graduated this week - it's a great feeling isn't it?!
As for the key issue, I wear one of these y-fumble arm pouches and they are brilliant for storing small items such as keys etc. I'd highly recommend it.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! What an accomplishment...sorry to hear about your keys and your Garmin....just enjoy the moment of this huge dedication and accomplishment!
I am quite paranoid about losing my house key! I use a safety pin through a plain key ring to keep it in place in my pocket. I don't trust myself not to pull the key out when I get my phone or a tissue out of my pocket - or perhaps the key will make a hole in the pocket that it then falls through. When I started running, the jogging trousers that I wore didn't have any pockets so I used the safety pin inside the waistband - but I prefer pocket AND safety pin.
Congrats!!! I've got a Karrimor "running belt" which you should be able to pick up in Sports Direct for £3.50. It's basically, a slim zipped pouch on an elastic/clippy belt.
Hi, i graduated on christmas eve, the next was a disaster, only made 20 mins but now i have mapped out 5k on gp.mapometer.com and going very very slowly on a calm day made 5k, i didn't think it was possible but i just kept going, slowing down to not much more than a walk so i could do it. It took me 45 mins. You can do it, and when you have you get an amazing feeling of confidence.
Good luck and keep posting...
