W9R3 done! Boom!

I did my graduation run this morning at Poole Parkrun.

My lovely friend, Julie, who is a rather more experienced runner, accompanied me to share the joy (!!), and she was fantastic in urging me on to the end of the full 5k. I checked my Runkeeper at 30 mins, and I'd completed 3.7km, which wasn't bad going, as I'd had to stop for an emergency loo break on the way, and that sort of "broke my stride"! I really must figure out the fine balance between sufficient hydration and "too much for my bladder to cope with"!!

I managed just fine to the 30 mins point (except for the loo-thing), but Julie was priceless in urging me on to the completion of the full 5k. I was slow, but I did run the vast majority of it, and with some urging from over my right shoulder, I even managed a sprint to the finish line. That was a real revelation, as I've not exceeded the 30 mins before, so every step beyond it felt twice as sweet.

Just waiting for my time to come through, but whatever it turns our to be, that is my starting point for the next stage of my training.

Thanks, everyone, for all the support and encouragment so far - I'm relying on a bit more to keep my momentum up! :)
