I really feel for you... I put on loads of weight with both my children and its so so hard... I used bio oil for my stretch marks and I dieted. Also get some support knickers that go to the thighs?I used to try and walk everywhere in between breast feeds. I didn't run then but I wish I'd known about C25k... I would really recommend it, your legs will totally change shape... Take care and good luck!

Hi Katie, you've posted this on the C25k running blog... It's an omen... !!! Someone is telling you that you need to run!!!! It's a 9 week programme of podcasts to get you running for 30 minutes. It's changed my life. I'm 43 and never ever run before but I've lost 1 and a bit stone and my body is so strong now. I used myfitnesspal to lose the weight, however I did have 3.5 stone to lose after each of my kids, it was hard but you just have to stay focused.... Good luck!

Hi Katie92! You sound fed-up! There's so many people on here who say that they have lost weight with C25K in combination with more thoughtful eating.

One of the huge benefits of C25K is that it makes you feel so much better about yourself and seems to have helped many of us with motivation in many other areas of our lives. So I do hope that you'll have a go at it. You'll be full of happy endorphins which will help you with yourself and looking after your lovely baby!

Best wishes to you!

Great to have you on board. Personally dieting helped me lose weight not running but being a comfort eater, the running gives me such a high that I don't eat so much chocolate. When I diet I think constantly about food but the running gives me something else to think about & plan. It really is great & you'll find plenty of support here.

If you are chaffing, get some body glide (look on Amazon or EBay) one stick lasts ages, best thing for dealing with

Hi Katie, I do empathise your dilemma and for all those who have the same issue. Why not try the good old fashion remedies. Please make sure any bleeds are cleaned and dry and use petroleum jelly vaseline prior to your run or walk on those parts that are causing discomfort with the support stockings or tight running bottoms to minimise further discomfort as you move. If you have stairs indoors at home, try and walk up and down or step up one step and down for a period of time. For example if your watch telly and an advert comes on... go up the stairs and down. or when your washing cycle is on full spin. if you did that regular at home with your new baby, you will see a huge difference before you know it over a short period.

Unfortunately I love in a ground floor flat. :( so haven't got stairs. I do use my wii though as has a step thing on there. I can't Wear jeans because of the denim and can't wear dresses in the summer. Am stuck with leggings. I've lost 4lb since posting this though.

Following on with diet, eat kiwi's regular, brilliant for your digestive system and skin complexion and toning and the usual berries red and blue packed with vitamin C and anti-oxidates, regenerates those skin cells. And of course fresh ginger or any foods which has the ginger stem. +++

I don't know if this will help but here goes.

Visiting Iceland a few years ago we came across a group of about 15 mums with pushchairs in a park. They appeared to be doing some sort of exercise programme which involved walking briskly with the pushchairs, or stopping at a low wall with some doing step ups and a few doing a short jog around the flower beds - with the steppers keeping an eye on the runners prams. Not C25K but it might something that couId be jigged for mums.

Hi Katie I agree with other posters. I lost about 1/2 Stone with just running, then another stone and a half with slimming world and running. (I still have a lot to lose).

I find the runner's high reduces the need for chocolate too. Also my legs are looking pretty good after 6 months running (my thighs are thinner).

By the way, Evans do funny pants in a tights material (comfort shorts) which stopped my chafing problem. m.evans.co.uk/mt/www.evans....
