Ok, so I've just 'completed' week 8 run 3. The previous 5 runs have given me a few troubles. I can complete them and have done ok, however I'm getting the dreaded pins and needles about 22 mins in. I have tried everything I can at the moment, reading up on stretches, doing them, changing how my laces are tied, changing socks, deep heat, extra rest days etc etc. I probably need new shoes, but cant do that at the moment.
So...the pins and needles have been hitting me later and later, and they take a good 5 mins to rev up, but at the end of each run I usually cant feel my foot at all! So much so I needed two one minute breaks on my last run (I made up for it by doing an extra 5 mins home though!)
The advice I need is do I a) carry on to 30 mins for week 9 or b) redo week 8 again?
Thank you very much in advance!

It's not something I've experienced when running but it must be very off putting. I'd say its most likely linked to your footwear. Trainers or even socks too tight because its a poor circulation thing isn't it that causes it.
After a recent injury my doc sent me to a podiatrist. It's amazing the help and advice she gave me.
My running shoes weren't expensive (about £30) but they are so much better than the ordinary trainers I used at the start.
I'm saving to go to sweatshop and get gait analysus buy some good ones
I have been told it might be a nerve thing as commonly people think pins and needles is a circulation issue and it isnt. The things google teaches us! I think I need new shoes. Carrying weight and have had my shoes for a year now. Do you suggest I move to week 9 or redo week 8? I'd love a graduates input
Ahhh I'm a graduate in name only at the moment. Graduated end of April, had a bad accident, then a running injury and am struggling at 3k at the minute
How do you feel about it?
Personally I wouldn't move on until I'd done each run completely but that's just me a little OCD about ticking all the boxes ha ha
A graduate is a graduate! You have been through this journey so I thoroughly respect your opinion 3k is very impressive, I only get to 2 miles now :/...think I will redo run 3 so I get it perfect. Seems silly, bit Im also a tad particular! Thank you
I had pins and needles and my foot kept going numb in the first 2 weeks before I got new shoes. I would recommend getting the best quality shoes and socks you can afford. It's annoying because running is supposedly free - but actually it does cost quite a bit to get the right gear so that you can avoid injuries.
I think I will have to invest in new shoes. Such a shame, mine have done so well until the 20mins plus weeks. Will start saving! Mine are currently running trainers, but just £30 from sports direct.
