Failed week 8 run1 !

I've had difficult runs and still continued but for some reason I just wasn't feeling top notch today and very tired. I only managed 20 mins so thought I'd start this again on Wednesday. Is this normal ? I had a bit of a heavy weekend with food and drink and my last run was on Friday morning which was also tough.

You've reached week 8.. Just be careful it's not you mind over matter. I remember the feeling but just push a little if not in pain... we are all behind you and many of us have been there!

Sorry, but I have to correct you - you didn't fail! You went out and ran for 20 minutes. Okay, you didn't get to where you wanted to be but you were still out there running. I have found that all sorts of things affect my running - what I've eaten or not eaten, how much I've been drinking (water, that is :D ), how tired I am and how much general stress there is over other things. Add in the weather, the humidity, the route, other people around and any other factor and who knows sometimes why things don't go well! Hopefully on Wednesday you'll be rested and recovered and you will nail this run. Good luck :)

I shall try and remember this. Did 8/1 yesterday and only managed 12 mins. I think it was because I couldn't be bothered which was maddening as I did week 7 so well and I am really keen to finish. Just have to remember not every day is good - just like life. Am going to try again tomorrow

Yes, try again - perhaps try a different route, time of day or something to mix it up. I hope it goes well for you - I'm sure it will! You'll get there :)

It's a blip. Been there in week7 & really beat myself up until I came and told my story here. Folk were all supportive & better than that they were right. I think most have been there.

Good luck, I did week 8 today and my shin was aching but in the end the pain went away and i finish the last minute with a run. Keep at it, it is tough and when you cannot go any further just jog extremely light till you can go again. good luck eat a hand full of almonds.

We know that you can do it. Get a good night's rest, approach it with a fresh mind and you'll nail it!
