Hi everyone , been reading this site for ages and finally got the courage to post after just completing run 3of week 4and scaring myself at the thought of week 5!.As a Larger lady(capital L) who hasnt done a bit of exercise in over 20years ,I struggled with the 60sec runs of week 1-but I have managed to get this far and embarrassed to say a little proud of myself for getting started and to this point. You guys are full of inspiration and motivation and just wanted to say a big thanks from a newbie. X of to get new running shoes now as a treat from hubbie for sticking to it!.

Thanks Rockett -think I'm a little premature getting"professional"running shoes but the theory is if hubbie spends out£90+on trainers then I have to stick with it!

Well done. Enjoy the shoe shopping. I'll be starting week 4 this week. I had my gait analysed after getting really bad ankle pain and having to take a week's break after week 2. I spent £80 on my shoes but they have made such a difference. I figured that I've got to keep going now!

You are not premature in buying running shoes, and you're right, there's nothing like spending £££ as a motivation to keep going.

I was in exactly your place this time last year - I felt a bit of a fraud spending £100 on my running shoes, but it was the best money I spent and I am now on my second pair!

Good luck for week 5 x

Well done, both on getting this far and on parting hubby from his hard earned dosh. You should definitely not be embarrassed about feeling proud. You have made a decision to change your life and this course will do that. You put in the effort and the rewards will follow. Just remember, on this site we are all smug and pink.

Good luck and keep posting.
