One day after the 7th month anniversary......

I was wondering whether to do a Park Run today and speed up my 5K or try another 10K...Yesterday was my 7th month anniversary of 'running'!

I got my Sports Direct Bum bag with bottles in it for half price, delivered to me on Thursday, also with a high-visibility Jacket, Hat, Gloves, and some new Socks-all for discounted price- (Check it out, they seem to be good) So, all ready for a 10K!

I woke up early, had my porridge with raisings in it, made pan cakes for my little one who was still in bed, did my stretching and visited the loo several times (!!) and here I was ready to go!

To make a long story short, I ran and ran and ran all the way, including a little hill and finished my 10K in 1 hour and 4 minutes. Isn't that great? I am very pleased! Honestly I can't believe it is really me who is running like this...the woman who could not run 7 months ago.

I will beat my 4 minutes soon and make it under 1 hour soon....this feeling I have at the minute is A- mazing!

Fantastic achievement and so well done. I am not up 10k yet - but will be by 20 oct - as this is my first 10k race :-)

Atta girl -I am sure you will take off the 4 mins.

nicely done :-) what you could do, is do the parkrun then run on after doing your time check. It's something I often do after my monthly parkrun.

Thank you crox..I like the idea of keep running after the Park Run, my only problem is I will have to stop for a while after the Park Run to sort out time checks and then it is not a 'continuation' of my run. I rather like to do my runs non-stop. I know some of them do 5K before starting the Park Run and continue the Park Run though..

I share your joy, just at being able to run.

We must have started at pretty much the same time and are in about the same place... I'm doing a ten k race # a week from today. I never cease to marvel at how amazing it makes me feel to run, and how much my body is capable of. Isn't it fab? I was just at a kids' birthday party, boring everyone with how brilliant it is to run.

Hey mehitabel, I am yet to do a 10K race, might think about one now though. Running is A-mazing, isn't it? I feel so good when I finish one every time, even though I do feel lazy at times to start them!
