Completed run 2 this morning! Felt great, it was hard work but good! I am not worried about run 3! I am not worried about run 3, I am not worried about run 3! Oh ok I am terrified! I can not imagine me running for 20 minutes!
Week 5 Run 2 : Completed run 2 this morning... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 Run 2
Stop imagining! You are not worried about run 3! You are not worried bout run 3! You are NOT worried about run 3!
Seriously though, have faith in the programme - it works! Your body is properly prepared for the next outing. It's now going to become a 'mind-over-matter' challenge ..... So, how does it go?
I'm not worried about my next run - I'm ready for it - bring it on!
Make this your mantra for the next few weeks ... And we'll all woop woop with joy at your graduation soon!
Cheers, Linda x
Week 5 Run 3 was my most enjoyable of the whole C25K and I was so happy I danced in the shower afterwards. Just start off gently so you can keep going for longer and enjoy knowing how far you've come since 5 weeks ago :-). It's far better to start off more slowly than usual and maybe speed up at the end if you have the energy than it is to go too fast at the beginning and have to slow down. Best of luck
You'll do it I'm sure. I couldn't imagine running for 20 minutes either and dreaded the challenge, however, once you get into it it's really enjoying (never thought I would say that 5 weeks ago!). As others say, just pace yourself and don't go too fast and run out of steam.
It's a huge turning point in the programme and an incredible achievement and you'll feel so good afterwards.
Go girl!
Laura points out in the podcast that your body is ready for this now and it's more a case of training your mind in these longer runs and that definitely rang true for me on w5r3 today. It was hard work but not as hard as I feared and I had to battle to not stop and remind myself I had no good reason to do so. In the end I could have kept going for longer I think. You'll be fine xx
Run 3 tomorrow, taken all your advice on board x
I also did week 5 run 2 today and felt surprisingly good. I think running in a new place helped because I didn't have the old landmarks to remind me how far I had run... I'm ...nearly... looking forward to run 3. I'll do it before my 6 hour drive... so I won't mind the sitting down!
